A Rough Few Years

Benjamin always had a very rough childhood. He was always moving from school to school every few months. He never made any friends because he never had enough time to make them, but as he got older it got easier and easier to meet new people. When he got to high school, he had made so many friends, his friend group was one of the largest. But that didn’t go so well for him. As his ego got higher and higher he was starting to be known as the schools biggest player.

Going to the gym is one of his favorite hobbies. He likes working out but he likes flirting with all the girls a lot more. Ben was the hottest guy at the gym. You saw him and your jaw automatically dropped. He goes to the gym to just talk to the girls, he doesn’t even work out anymore. Everyone knows he’s a player but they all think he’s really cute so they always go for him. After talking to most girls at the school, he started talking to this girl named Ava at the gym. As soon as he saw her at the gym, he fell in love. As Benjamin continued to work out, all he could think about was this girl. Her beautiful blonde hair and bright blue eyes. He always hung out with her and she became the only girl he talked to. He started showing up to the gym and actually working out, well, that’s what we all thought. Ava was really in love with him and everyone was happy that Benjamin had finally found someone he loved. Until, Ava walked into the gym on a random wednesday to work out and Benjamin was working out and flirting with a new girl. I walked up to them and tried to get them to stop talking to each other but also being nice. I asked Ben what we were going to do this weekend even though we weren’t doing anything. She walks away with a clenched jaw but I continue to talk to Ben. 

I asked him what he was doing and he said they were just talking as friends. I didn’t believe him at all, especially because of his past but I continued to just work out with him and decided to talk to him later. He won’t own up to it so I decided to text Ava and ask her what’s going on. She said she didn’t know we were a thing. She said that she and Benjamin were hanging out all the time and she didn’t mean to ruin things between me and him. I turn off my phone and go to sleep. The next day I talk to Benjamin in school and we decide to stop talking. A few weeks later, people start telling me he’s already talking to 3 new girls. What happened to him?
