The speaker in this poem seems to be addressing an inner battle. The form of this poem enhances the deeper meaning of the poem. I really liked how the 10th stanza has no spaces and the 11th stanza has extra spaces because it depicts the speaker going through a battle.
This poem mirrors the writer’s perspective on how they want to run away and desperately want to change. This poem makes me feel uneasy since it includes strong imagery and the tone makes the reader feeling uneased.
The physical imagery of the poem directly relates to the poem as a whole. How you spaced apart the lines in stanza’s 11-12 and brought them close together in stanza 10 truly portrays what you were trying to get across in the poem. I also appreciate the word “hit” when you said it “hit my eyes” because it means the sand is attacking the speaker and not helping them or being gentle.
